Our Labour Values

Our Labour Values
The Labour Party is a democratic socialist party. It believes that by the strength of our common endeavour, we achieve more than we achieve alone so as to create for each of us the means to realise our true potential and for all of us a community in which power, wealth and opportunity are in the hands of the many not the few, where the rights we enjoy reflect the duties we owe, and where we live together, freely, in a spirit of solidarity, tolerance and respect

The Manchester Labour vision

For the past 10 years we have had a vision of Manchester as a City of national and international significance; where people come to live and work and where companies invest. In those 10 years, we have achieved much. Rebuilding the City Centre and staging the Commonwealth Games demonstrated the City's vision and strength and helped attract organisations like of the Bank of New York and the BBC to Manchester. We need a new vision for Manchester for the next 10 years: a City where everyone has equal access to employment, opportunity and prosperity. This is where the challenge remains. Delivering this vision will result in more people living in the City and more importantly, people who are wealthier; live longer, healthier and happier lives; and are part of diverse, stable communities.

About Me

My photo
Gorton CLP Youth and Students Officer
Hi, I am Adele and am the Youth and Students Officer for Gorton CLP. My job is to get young people involved in the constituency. We believe in the values of social justice, equality and collectivity. We work closely with Manchester Labour students as well as the local party. Essentially we campaign to keep Manchester Labour controlled and to keep a Labour Government, which has been so vital for Manchester's renaissance. Heading towards May 2007 we will be working with Labour Students on the Child Poverty campaign and getting out in the constituency to work for labour gains in Manchester. Whatever we do, we always have a good time together. To get involved leave a comment or drop me an email on gortonclp_youthandstudents@hotmail.co.uk or phone me on 07810011771
